Sounds of 1679

(the 50 year Anniversary of the Arecibo Message)

“Sounds of 1679” reimagines the Arecibo message as an evolving audio-visual experience. The project sonifies the binary message, using a polyphonic sequencer to bring each segment to life through sound and visuals. As instruments play, the message emerges from the “noise of space” before gradually fading back, capturing the fragile nature of interstellar communication.

Endless Moments

A real-time generative work, Endless Moments combines soothing synthesized sounds with algorithmically crafted visuals. Driven by Javascript and WebAudio APIs, the project evolves live in web browsers, with each moment tied to the system’s clock. Inspired by diverse cultural harmonies and rhythms, Endless Moments blends the timeless with the transient, creating an ambient landscape that continually renews itself in both sound and visuals.

createAlbum(“Piano”);

The first in the createAlbum(); series, Piano captures recordings from a generative music program we’ve been developing for two years. Each track is a unique, evolving piece, shaped by the program’s continuous flow. Run the program, and the music transforms endlessly; restart it, and an entirely new composition emerges.

COUNTERSOUL

COUNTERSOUL is a real-time, generative music & visual performance of the Bitcoin blockchain. Its development began in late 2021, and completed in January 2023 and is the first generative musical composition inscribed on Bitcoin.
